What we collect
- Account information - email, name, password (hashed), account-type declaration
- Listings + messages - content you post or send
- Device fingerprint - anonymous browser fingerprint via FingerprintJS, used solely for anti-abuse signal at signup time
- Payment information - handled by Stripe; we never store card numbers or CVVs
- Pre-launch signups - if you provide your email on our pre-launch holding page, we store it (email + signup timestamp + UTM source if present in the link you arrived from + your browser's User-Agent header) for the sole purpose of sending you a single notification when we launch. We don't sell, share, or otherwise use this data. To request deletion, email admin@northwoodsbst.com.
What we do with it
- Operate the platform (display listings, route messages, deliver subscription benefits)
- Detect and respond to abuse (ban evasion, fraud, prohibited content)
- Send transactional emails (auth, account-state, payments - never marketing without opt-in)
What we don't do
- Sell or rent your personal data
- Share data with third parties beyond service providers
- Track you across the web
Your choices
- Notification preferences - toggle per-event email types at /account/notifications
- Read receipts - opt out under the Privacy section of /account/notifications
- Account deletion - email admin@northwoodsbst.com (self-service deletion ships post-launch)
